Dubai’s hotel industry is back operating at peak levels, according to a new report. Average occupancy surged to 87.3% in October, similar to the levels witnessed in 2007, before the impact of the global financial crisis. The emirate’s hotels also emerged as the top players in the UAE, according to the HotStats survey by TRI Hospitality Consulting, with Abu Dhabi coming in second with an average occupancy of 82.8%.
Dubai’s hotel market continues to go from strength to strength, with the emirate also clocking up the largest RevPar growth in the UAE, registering $196.85 - a rise of 13.1%. Regionally, the UAE as a whole posted the largest increase in hotel occupancy, rising overall by 9.7%. The outlook for 2012 remains highly positive, with major events such as the Dubai Shopping Festival and the Dubai Desert Classic golf all set to attract international visitors.
