Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) has announced the opening of two new branches in the emirate, bringing its UAE-wide network to a total of 68 branches.
In a statement, the bank confirmed that the new branches are located in the Al Mamzar area and in Etihad Mall in Al Muhaisnah.
"As the pioneer of Shariah compliant banking, DIB is leading from the front in the growing popularity of Islamic banking," commented Dr Adnan Chilwan, chief of consumer and wholesale banking at DIB.
"The increase in our customer base which is now touching 1.2 million is clearly reflective of this growing popularity and the success of our strategic vision for growth."
He added that the new branches reinforced DIB's long-term retail banking expansion strategy, which also includes providing more ATMs and "a large suite of secure electronic banking solutions".
Earlier this week, meanwhile, the latest Bayt.com Jobs Index revealed that more than half of the UAE's employers are planning to recruit over the next few months.
