DIA could soon overtake Heathrow as world's busiest airport

Property investors with interests in the Middle East could be among those encouraged by the findings of a recent report.Research published by the Capa Centre for Aviation has claimed that Dubai International Airport (DIA) could soon overtake London's Heathrow as the world's busiest international travel hub.Indeed, the report said that DIA will soon overtake Hong Kong and Charles de Gaulle in Paris to move into second spot, putting Heathrow firmly in its sights, Arab News reported."Dubai will hold this advantage through December and into the New Year," the report stated."If recent rates of growth continue, Dubai could maintain its position as the world’s second busiest international airport through 2012 and could overtake Heathrow before 2015 as the London airport has 'little spare capacity for expansion'."With an increasing number of people expected to fly into Dubai in the coming years, demand for short-term lets could soon be on the rise.
