Property investors with buy-to-let units in Abu Dhabi could be among those encouraged by ambitious visitor predictions for 2012.Indeed, according to the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), the New Year is expected to see some 2.3 million visitors enter the emirate. With a mix of business and leisure visitors, short-term lets are sure to be in high demand.Lawrence Franklin, the ADTA's strategy and policy director, said that thanks in part to the recent Abu Dhabi grand Prix, the emirate is well on course to reach its 2011 target of two million visitors. The expert expects the performance to continue into the New Year, making the 2.3 million target an achievable objective."We have set this target and will work towards achieving it. We are quite optimistic about reaching our 2011 target of two million hotel guests," he said."We are within striking distance… we saw a strong growth in hotel guest numbers in October and are expecting positive numbers for November due to the Formula 1 race."
