With the end of 2011 fast approaching, Dubai’s tourism and hotel industry can look back on what has been a hugely profitable year. Recent figures show the city’s hotels welcomed 6.64 million guests in the first three quarters of 2011, marking a rise of 11% on 2010. Guest nights rose by 26% to 23.68 million, according to the Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing report, while the average length of hotel stay also increased by 14% during the same period. The figures show Dubai’s hotel industry has performed excellently over the last year, with analysts predicting that this positive trend will continue well into 2012. The First Group looks forward to adding to the hotel industry in 2012, with the launch of two more Tecom hotel apartment projects; Metro Central and Grand Central. It already has two hotel properties in its portfolio; The Diamond at Dubai Sports City and the recently opened First Central in Tecom.
