Premier Inn Abu Dhabi opening delayed

The opening of Premier Inn's first venue in Abu Dhabi has been put back, it has been reported.Based in the Capital Centre, the hotel was expected to be opened in September but will now welcome its first guests in December, according to Hotelier Middle East. However, despite the delay halting an extra 242 hotel rooms in the emirate, Abu Dhabi has seen availability increase in recent weeks.Indeed, November saw an extra 1,392 rooms made available following a flurry of hotel opening in anticipation of a tourism boost. The opening coincided with Abu Dhabi hosting a Formula One Grand Prix.Among the newcomers to the Abu Dhabi hotel scene were the 306-room Park Hyatt Saadiyat Island and the 400-key Jumeirah Towers.Rotana also announced the opening of its fourth Centro Hotel in the area, while Westin Abu Dhabi increased competition for custom with a new 176-room venture. The news comes after recently-published figures showed that Abu Dhabi is close to reaching its hotel guest target of two million for 2011.
