Mapei relocates to Dubai

Leading construction adhesive manufacturer Mapei has announced that it is to relocate to Dubai.The news could spark interest in the emirate from property investors and other firms as it highlights the area's credential as a leading business location.Italian firm Mapei announced the move shortly after acquiring Henkel Adhesives.The move sees Mapei vacate its base in Al Quoz in order to take residence at a 1,114.8-square metre facility in Dubai Investment Park (DIP), Construction Week Online reported.Stefano Iannacone, Mapei managing director, told the news provider: "By shifting our offices to DIP, where we already have an established manufacturing unit, we can fully reap the benefits of a more centralised unit, while demonstrating our continued commitment to delivering industry-leading products and value-added services to the market."We are now fully-equipped to manufacture specially-developed adhesives and related products that match the requirements of our customers in the UAE and across the region."Mapei's move could inspire more businesses to relocate, which in turn could lead office rents in Dubai rise.
