Etihad to create 100 new jobs

Property investors with interests in the UAE could be tempted to make buy-to-let purchases following the recent comments of one airline boss.James Hogan, boss at Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways, has announced the firm is to create 100 new jobs based in the emirate, the Irish Times reported. The move could well see 100 Irish citizens move to the region, which in turn could boost the local rental markets. From the start of next month, the carrier will begin recruitment proceedings in order to appoint the 100 new cabin crew members.Mr Hogan was bullish about the prospects of the firm, saying there is scope for further appointments and playing down the threat of rival airline Emirates."We compete with them on most of the routes we fly. My view is that the more direct flights to the Middle East the better," he told the newspaper."There'll be even less reason for people to fly through London, Amsterdam, Paris or Frankfurt."
