Dubai Metro use on the rise, says RTA

Nearly six million people used the Dubai Metro last month as the emirate reaffirmed its status as one of the expanding areas of the world.Figures released by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai yesterday (October 5th) revealed that the Green Line is already being well used, with 1.277 million passengers travelling on it in only 20 days.Additionally, Emirates 24-7 reports that 4.66 million passengers used the Red Line last month.Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the board and executive director of the RTA, is quoted by the news provider as saying that traveller numbers have "consistently picked up"."More passengers are expected to use the Metro with the onset of winter and the inflow of passengers to tourist and heritage attractions, particularly at Al Shindagha," he stated.Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi property owners could be seeing strong rental demand after figures from the Real Estate Monitor by Asteco Property Management said that the market improved in the third quarter of this year.
