A delegation from the Republic of Korea recently visited Dubai Media City (DMC) to gain insight into the free zone’s development since its creation a decade ago. The delegation came from Korea’s Central Officials Training Institute, which is part of South Korea's Ministry of Public Administration and Security. The officials reviewed DMC’s state of the art facilities and visited the 18 Korean companies currently situated throughout the free zone.
The Korean visit is testament to DMC’s international appeal. Since opening in January 2001, the area has rapidly emerged as a major media hub for the region. It is now home to more than 1,400 companies, including several global media giants such as BBC, Reuters and MBC. Strategically located at the crossroads of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, DMC is a member of Tecom Investments, and is located right across the Sheikh Zayed Road from the Tecom business district.
