Ras Al Khaimah-based RAK Ceramics, the world's largest manufacturer of ceramic tiles, has confirmed its contribution to the Pakistan Flood Relief Fund.

The company stated that the monetary contributions of its employees are being used to take care of the food requirements of around 300 displaced Pakistani families for an entire month, WAM News Agency reported.

In addition, it was announced that RAK Ceramics has also sent 24 large boxes containing clothes, blankets, medicines and other essential non-perishable items through the Pakistani Consulate in Dubai.

"The employees of RAK Ceramics have always been at the forefront of recognising the gravity of such a humanitarian crisis and making generous contributions to a worthy cause," commented Abdallah Massaad, deputy chief executive officer of RAK Ceramics.

Earlier this week, the company informed Bloomberg that it is currently producing at full capacity.

It stated that that with annual sales of more than $1 billion, RAK Ceramics may now look to expand in India and raise about $50 million through a share sale of its South Asian unit to build a new plant in the country.
