Dubai Internet City Gears up for 10 Year Anniversary

Rewind back the clock a decade and the global technology hub of Dubai Internet City was little more than a stretch of desert! Fast forward to today and it’s a buzzing zone of local and international business, and one that is set to celebrate 10 years of growth. Dubai Internet City will showcase its huge achievements at the GITEX Technology Week this October; the Middle East’s largest IT exhibition.

Dubai Internet City (DIC), along with fellow Free Trade Zones, Media City (DMC) and Knowledge Village (DKV), have been pivotal in the huge growth of the ‘New Dubai’ area – located at the opposite end of the city to the Dubai International Airport. Since the set up of these zones in 2001, this area of Dubai has seen tremendous growth, both residentially and commercially. TECOM is one of the newest districts created to help serve the bustling zones of DMC, DIC and DKV. It is already home to a rapidly growing business and residential population. The First Group looks forward to adding to the TECOM area in the very near future, with the opening of Metro Central and Grand Central Hotel Apartments.
