Ras Al Khaimah-based RAK Ceramics recently expanded its operations by opening a new carpentry workshop.
Located at the company's headquarters in Ras Al Khaimah, the workshop has been established as part of ongoing efforts to improve the health and safety standards of RAK Ceramics and ensure optimised working conditions for employees, Al Bawaba reported.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by employees and senior management at the company, which is one of the largest ceramics manufacturers in the world.
In order to offer a safer, more spacious and conducive working environment, the new carpentry workshop has been fully equipped with fire alarm and fire-fighting equipment such as a sprinkler system and hose reels, Al Bawaba said.
Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this month that Ras Al Khaimah recently oversaw the Sixth Arab Chemistry Olympiad, thereby becoming the first emirate in the UAE to host the competition.
It proved to be a spur for the country as the four-member UAE national team went on to take first place.
