Dubai airport experienced passenger numbers in excess of four million for the first time last month, according to new figures.
Reports show that Dubai International handled 4.308 million passengers in July, up 14.3 per cent on the previous year.
Commenting on the figures, Paul Griffiths, chief executive officer of Dubai Airports, said: "This is an important milestone that reflects the consistent growth we have seen over the past years.
"Compared to July 2009, Dubai International handled over half a million more passengers and we surpassed the highest ever monthly traffic total by over 300,000 passengers."
The figures also showed that 26.862 million passengers have travelled through Dubai International so far this year.
This represents a 16 per cent rise on the same period in 2009.
"As we are experiencing such high levels of growth consistently, we will be extending our 'Summer Mission' programme … and deploying additional service personnel across the airport to make sure that our service remains at a world class level," Mr Griffiths added.
