The Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry has launched the 22nd issue of its Commercial Directory (2010-2011) with a view to offering detailed information on the emirate's business environment.
Published separately in Arabic and English and in CD format, the directory boasts comprehensive contact details for a large number of companies as well as up-to-date information on economic activity in the UAE in general and Dubai in particular.
This includes an overview of Dubai's trade activities, infrastructure, free zones, social services, procedures for obtaining licenses and future Dubai projects.
Hamad Buamim, director-general at the Dubai Chamber, said: "Coming as part of Dubai Chamber's strategic objectives of creating a favourable business environment, supporting the development of business and promoting Dubai as an international business hub, this new edition with its over 65,000 listings reflects the growth of the various economic sectors of the emirate and keeps the stakeholders updated with the contact details of all types of active businesses operating in Dubai."
The news comes after DP World Ltd, the port operator owned by the government-backed conglomerate Dubai World, this week reported strong profits for the first half of 2010 on the back of a seven per cent rise in container volumes.
