The UAE will be the setting for the launch of Microsoft Kinect, a new "gesture-sensing system" for the Xbox 360 games console, it has been revealed.
A spokesperson for the company told 7Days that the Kinect platform will launch in the Middle East in November with the UAE hosting the launch of the Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect sensor and bundles in line with its EMEA launch. However, no specific date was confirmed.
According to an announcement in the US by Microsoft yesterday (July 21st), the system will cost $150 and will go on sale there on November 4th.
The Kinect platform uses a 3D camera and software to let people play games using natural body movements, 7Days said.
Meanwhile, it was reported this week that Zawya, an online Middle East business intelligence provider, has launched C-me, a free self-service tool which will allow small and medium-sized enterprises to build up an online company profile and increase their visibility in the region.
