Arab Publisher House has signed a deal with US magazine Forbes to re-launch the popular business publication in the Middle East. The region’s previous edition – Forbes Arabia – went out of publication in 2009, when Dubai publisher DIT Group closed down. Arab Publisher House, which recently set up its headquarters in Dubai Media City, says it is aiming to launch an Arabic version of the Forbes magazine in Dubai by October, with the English slated for the first print in early 2011. Initial circulation figures are expected to reach around 20,000, rising to 30,000 within the first six months.
The deal is a major coup for the Dubai Media City publisher, which also aims to bring a number of other Forbes magazines to the region, including ForbesWoman and ForbesLife. The international version of the bi-weekly business title has a circulation of around 900,000, and an online following of close to 18 million people.
