Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) has added "virtual offices" to its list of value-added services through a new partnership agreement with Servcorp, a leader in the international business centre industry.
Under the arrangement, RAK FTZ will now be able to offer its clients the option of establishing a business presence in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, the trade authority said.
This will involve setting up a virtual office in one of Servcorp's locations in either city, allowing RAK FTZ's clients to boost their business profile in the UAE and gain access to a full suite of technologies, facilities and corporate services. They will also gain access to Servcorp's business centres around the world.
"We are in an era of cloud computing, where businesses store pertinent information online, and in this trend, virtual offices are the next step - a vital step which we are now making available to our clients," said Oussama El Omari, chief executive officer at RAK FTZ.
The news comes after the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority recently disclosed details of various positive discussions that were held at its investment conference at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai last month.
