Hiring levels in the professional and managerial sector of the Gulf region are seeing a strong resurgence, a new study has found.
The 'Global Snapshot' from the international recruitment firm Antal surveyed more than 9,600 organisations in 55 countries on whether they were currently hiring and firing at professional and managerial level. It then asked whether they planned to do so in the coming quarter.
Antal found that 48 per cent of companies in the Gulf nations are currently hiring, with this expected to rise to 63 per cent over the coming quarter.
"High levels of confidence and hiring levels in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE, and decent levels of confidence and hiring in Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman are signs of economic recovery in the region," commented Nizar Lallani, Antal's chief executive officer for the Gulf region.
The news comes after a recent survey by Insight Discovery on behalf of the Arqaam Capital Dubai Beirut Forum found that most regional executives believe Dubai will still be the Middle East's top business hub by 2015.
