Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has announced that it will begin services between Muscat, the capital of the sultanate, and Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.
The service, which will be launched on May 2nd, is Oman Air's 34th destination worldwide and its third in the UAE - the other two being Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Peter Hill, Oman Air's chief executive officer, said: "Ras Al Khaimah is the fourth largest emirate in the UAE in terms of area and population and is a growing leisure destination ... With Oman Air's daily service between Muscat and Ras Al Khaimah, the residents of this beautiful emirate will surely enjoy the services of Oman Air."
The airline observed that Ras Al Khaimah has 64km of beach along the Arabian Gulf and a range of tourist attractions including an 18-hole golf course shaped around a large open salt water lagoon.
Meanwhile, a recent survey by Bayt.com and YouGov Siraj revealed that the UAE saw the biggest increase in consumer confidence among the Gulf countries during the first quarter of this year.
