Dubai's Airport Show, the only event in the region dedicated exclusively to airport construction, operations, technology and services, will see a 17 per cent increase in the number of participating countries this year, it has been announced.
The tenth edition of the show, which will be held from April 25th to 27th at the Dubai Airport Expo, is expected to welcome 54 buyers representing 24 airports from around the world.
A strong focus of the event will be on investor opportunities in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia - or the 'MENASA' region - which boasts the fastest growing airport industry in the world.
There are currently 39 airports under construction or renovation in the region, and the show will highlight the extensive opportunities for potential collaborations in specialised areas of airport development.
Jamal Al Hai, senior vice-president of strategy and development at Dubai Airports, pointed to the "international benchmarks" that Dubai has set in the aviation industry, including with its development for a major new Dubai airport – Al Maktoum International.
Dubai International Airport is currently the sixth busiest airport in the world in terms of passenger flow.
