Dubai has launched what is believed to be one of the largest travel promotions in the world as the emirate tries to boost its tourism figures, it has been reported.
The new Kids Go Free campaign aims to drive forward arrival figures this summer and will see children aged 16 or under being able to holiday in the emirate for free between May 14th and September 30th, according to TTG Live.
Saleh Mohammed Al Geziry, director of overseas promotions for the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), told the news provider: "The last campaign was a great success for the destination and we all felt it should continue as it would be good for the summer.
During the last campaign, Dubai managed to attract an extra 30,000 visitors and the 2010 promotion could be good for investors with holiday property and other tourism interests in the region.
"This is not simply a cut-price promotion – it underlines our strategy of further establishing Dubai as a year-round destination," DTCM Germany director Mara Kaselitz added.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of reports that the Dubai Mall welcomed five million visitors during the Dubai Shopping Festival.
