Fashion hotels take off in Dubai

Celebrities and haute couture brands are flocking to Dubai to launch new hotels.

With Armani set to open its first hotel in the city this March and Elie Saab designing one for next year, it is hardly surprising that fashion mogul and footballer's wife Victoria Beckham is getting in on the action.

The former Spice Girl has been offered £25 million to team up with renowned designer Karl Lagerfield to create the interior spaces of a luxurious hotel in the city, reports the Daily Mirror.

According to the news provider, if Beckham accepts the proposal she will be tasked with creating the look of all the rooms, as well as designing staff uniforms.

The new hotel will be located on the city's Isla Moda and the project developers claim that Lagerfield, who is a chief designer for Chanel, is already on board.

Versace, Christian Lacroix and Missoni have all opened fashion branded hotels in the city in the past.

Armani is also planning to complete a branded hotel in Milan this year.
