The Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry has launched an online "sustainability directory" aimed at promoting companies that offer sustainable products, services and solutions in the UAE.
In a statement, the chamber's Centre for Responsible Business said the directory reflected its efforts in raising awareness of responsible business practices while also serving as "a useful and dynamic trading tool" to assist in vendor selection.
Available on the chamber's website, the directory will host a list of regularly updated contact details for sustainable companies in a range of core sectors in Dubai including real estate and construction, foods and beverages, pharmaceuticals, supply chain and logistics, energy and retail.
"This online tool will not only help organisations gain local and global visibility for their sustainable products but will also assist them to promote their responsible and sustainable business practices among their consumers and stakeholders while illustrating their commitment to the environment and the society at large," commented Hamad Buamim, director-general of the Dubai Chamber.
