Leading hospitality company Cristal Hotels and Resorts has announced it will commence operations at the Cristal Salam Hotel in Abu Dhabi by early 2011.
The hotel, which is the company's second hospitality destination in the UAE, comprises 112 rooms and suites as well as various business and leisure amenities including free underground parking and free internet, four meeting rooms, the Figure 8 Health Club, sauna/steam rooms, an outdoor pool and the Cristal Spa.
Peter Blackburn, chief executive officer of Cristal Hotels and Resorts, commented that Abu Dhabi's emergence as a major business destination in the region had served to increase the demand for high-quality hospitality services in the emirate.
"Cristal Hotels and Resorts believes that there is still so much room for growth in the UAE's hospitality sector as we continue to pursue our growth plan to operate a total of 25 hotels within five to 10 years," he added.
The news comes after Jones Lang LaSalle reported this week that the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) hotel investment market has demonstrated strong growth in the first three quarters of 2010 to reach €3.97 billion - a 55 per cent year-on-year increase against the €2.5 billion transacted between Q1 and Q3 in 2009.
