Investors looking at Dubai property for sale may be buoyed by a recent announcement that has seen some of the region's transport operatives honoured.
This week it was reported the Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), which forms part of the emirate's Roads & Transport Authority, had selected 350 cabbies to receive new certification.
As part of the Drivers Performance Management System, these motorists were selected as the first batch of people to obtain the award, which was given at an event held earlier this month.
Commenting on the announcement, chief executive officer of the DTC Abdul Aziz Malik said the quarterly points system would reward those who commit to providing the best service possible to the emirate.
"[It] is an effective tool for assessing drivers, monitoring their daily performance, minimising traffic accidents, offering incentives to high-performance drivers and training drivers whose performance is poor," he added.
Hussain Ali Al Saffar, director of operation and maintenance for the RTA's Marine Agency, recently said the region's water bus system was experiencing "healthy growth".
