Dubai property investment is set for success in the long term, according to a recent report.

The findings from specialists in real estate and investment management, Jones Lang LaSalle indicated the essential nature of focusing on attracting long-term investors as more mature economies have demonstrated that they are responsible for in the region of 80 per cent of more sizeable real estate transactions.

The report, cited in the Gulf News, said: "This transition will require a paradigm shift from the previous reliance on short-term strategies and rapid implementation to an increased focus on the creation of quality real estate assets that will be attractive to both occupiers and long-term real estate investors."

It noted that over the next few years, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Cairo and Casablanca would be in the strongest position in the Middle East and north African region to attract such investments.
