The newly launched Dubai Metro system provides a convenient option for the many popular spots to visit in the emirate, it has been advised.
A spokesman for the destination's official Tourism and Commerce Marketing organisation in the UK and Ireland explained that some fears about the system had proved to be unfounded.
Ian Scott, director of the body, explained that with a network of this kind the positioning of individual is important. It was advised that if these are placed in isolated areas people may be put off.
"All the stations have been strategically located close to tourism hubs and the business centres too. So you'll have stations like the airport and Burj Dubai, Burj Al Arab, Emirates Towers and will go down to the Dubai Marina," he added.
The department recently published a new report looking at tourism in the regions and showed the emirate to have recorded 3.85 million hotel reservations in the first half of the year - up five per cent on the same period in 2008.
