In news that could be relevant to those looking for Dubai property for sale, the new transport system in the emirate is expected to make life easier.
Residents and visitors have expressed their excitement about the forthcoming Metro, which is set to open on September 9th.
According to the developers, the service will be used by all residents from high-end business people to shoppers and commuters.
Mohammed Motara, a personal development coach on a visit to the emirate from South Africa, said it will be a great addition to the city.
He said: "Dubai is okay for getting around but you have to wait a bit for taxis and the Metro would be more accessible.
"For tourists it will be good to get to shops and the main sights."
Also this week, it was reported in the El Emarat Al Youm newspaper that no pets will be allowed to ride in the carriages – something that may affect people looking for Dubai property for sale.
Gulf News reported that the Roads and Transport Authority took the decision to prevent animals from boarding the metro and entering the stations as a safety and security measure.
The new system will travel along the Red Line, which runs from Al Rashidiya to the Jebel Ali Free Zone, with links to Abu Dhabi.
