A delegation of the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) has touched down in Germany to attend a series of high-level trade events.
While the FTZ has sponsored the Ost Westfalen-Lippe Meets UAE event held in Bielefeld, it was also present for the German Arab Business Forum in Berlin.
Group chief executive Oussama El Omar appointed Maryam Al Murshedi Al Shehhi, deputy director general of the RAK FTZ, as the head of delegation, which had a strong presence at both events.
"Exploring new markets is a vital component of any company's growth. It is just as important as maintaining progress and development in markets that you have already tapped," commented Al Shehhi.
The delegation used the trade fairs to familiarise business leaders with the RAK FTZ liaison office in Cologne, which they can use a starting point for establishing a regional presence in the Middle East.
RAK FTZ has also been celebrating in the emirates after being awarded the Industrial Area of the Year award the Supply Chain and Transport Awards 2009.
