Footfall at the Mall of the Emirates has increased considerably since the start of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), the premier retail outlet has announced.
According to the group, some 2.7 million shoppers have passed through the mall since the start of the festival on June 11th, an increase on visitor numbers during the same period last year.
Fuad Sharaf, vice-president for Mall of the Emirates, said that the public had reacted positively to DSS.
"We are extremely pleased with this overall performance as it shows the robustness of the retail sector," he said.
As Dubai's premier shopping resort, the Mall of the Emirates kicked off DSS with a 12-hour opening ceremony where shoppers were lavished with prizes and one-of-a-kind discounts.
The Mall of the Emirates has also this month been named one of the UAE's top ten brands in the latest BrandIndex YouGov study.
Deira and Emirates Airlines were the only other UAE-based companies to make the list.
