Emirates Airline has today (July 30th) become the owner of the world's largest fleet of Boeing 777 craft with the arrival of its 78th plane.
This lead is set to be extended in the coming months as there are an additional 28 Boeing 777 currently on order, the company announced.
It is also the only carrier in the world to own every model in the Boeing 777 family, with its latest acquisition being the 777-300ER, which has been specifically designed for long-haul flights.
"The 777 is an excellent aircraft in terms of operating economics, and importantly, the new technologies incorporated within enable us to fit it out with the latest onboard systems and passenger amenities," commented Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline.
Dubai's resident airline has also this week announced a new landmark partnership with Virgin Blue that will offer travellers enhanced connecting flight options when travelling from the emirate to Australia.
