Dubai International Airport achieved month-on-month growth of 10.3 per cent over the course of June, it has been announced.
The transport authority revealed that collectively, the three terminals at Dubai International handled 3.36 million passengers, up from 3.04 million in May.
Commenting on the results, Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Dubai Airports, said that cargo volumes were also proving very resilient.
"Growth is being driven by strong demand during the peak summer period, the growing strength and attractiveness of the Dubai hub, underpinned by the continued expansion of Emirates," he said.
Mr Griffiths concluded by stating that the outlook for the summer period remains strong, while attractive longer term growth is also expected.
Dubai International reputation received another boost earlier this month at the Supply Chain and Transport Awards 2009, where it was named best airport for cargo and cargo hub of the year.
It is the fourth consecutive year that the airport has taken away an award from the event.
