The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has launched a new game to help Emirati youths gain a better understanding of investment and financial markets.
Launched today (July 21st), the new Summer Stock Game has been made available to young students enrolled in the DFM's seasonal training programme, providing them with an engaging platform to hone their investment strategies in a head-to-head competition.
The young investors were given responsibility for their own practice portfolio and pitted against each other to deliver the highest returns over the next two weeks.
Mubarak Al Doosari, general coordinator of the Summer Stock Game, said that this is the latest example of DFM's demonstrable expertise in finding innovative ways to teach young people the value of financial trading.
"The new summer competition demonstrates our commitment in developing the skills and abilities of today's youth," he added.
DFM has also this month announced strong growth for the second quarter of 2009, at the end of which revenues had climbed 119 per cent when compared to the previous quarter.
