Construction firms are launching a recruitment drive as development projects pick up pace, one industry insider has claimed.
Speaking to Emirates Business, Phil Starr, recruitment director of RealHR Consultancy and Recruitment, said that there has been an uptick in hiring in Dubai's construction sector in recent weeks as UAE property projects move forward.
"The market has definitely picked up over the past month. We have seen a steady increase among all sectors. The past month has seen a definite upturn in the construction sector," he said.
Meanwhile, Matthew Taylor, international director of UK-based Macdonald and Company, said that there has been much positive talk about the Gulf's construction industry recently, with companies committing to a number of interesting projects in the region.
Earlier this month, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, set out his vision for nurturing competitiveness in global economic markets while promoting unity within the UAE.
