World number one Tiger Woods has put himself in a strong position to take the trophy at the US Open, which kicks off in New York next week.
Middle East Golfer editor Joy Chakravarty has remarked that while Phil Mickelson will have the hearts of the east coast crowd, Woods' improved driving makes him a bewildering force to contend with.
Writing for Emirates Business, Mr Chakravarty insisted that Woods put together an "awesome" display of golfing prowess to take the Jack Nicklaus trophy on Sunday (June 14th).
"If Woods is anywhere near his Sunday performance at Muirfield Village - he drove 14 out of 14 fairways during his final round - he should take home the impressive trophy with plenty to spare," he commented.
The world's most recognised golfer has put his name to the Tiger Woods Dubai, an exclusive golfing community which includes an elite clubhouse and premium residential property for sale in Dubai.
