The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has outlined the fare structure for the new Dubai Metro and unveiled the Nol travel card.
In a press conference yesterday (June 21st) held in the RTA's headquarters, Mattar Al Tayer, chairman and executive director of the organisation, said that the new card will be launched to coincide with the inauguration of the Dubai Metro public transport system.
The new unified fare scheme and electronic travel cards have been fully endorsed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Speaking at the launch, Al Tayer commented: "The logo of the Unified Nol Card was designed to replicate the unified identity of transport systems, with a symbolic reference to the seamless flow of various transport modes in Dubai."
Earlier this month, the RTA announced that a new swift access walkway between the Mall of the Emirates and the Dubai Metro will open in September.
