The bosses of Dubai Sports City are planning to host a huge pop concert at the 25,000-seat Cricket Stadium, which opened last month.
One of the landmarks of the $4 billion Dubai Sports City complex, the cricket stadium attracted thousands of tourists and Emiratis when it opened with an exhilarating match between Pakistan and Australia.
Now, bosses are considering temporarily converting the stadium into a huge concert venue, with plans to host a show there as early as October.
"We've had a number of discussions with major local entertainment promoters and they are very interested in the opportunity that the stadium provides," said Malcolm Thorpe, director of marketing at Dubai Sports City, speaking to Arabian Business.
Dubai Sports City is set to establish the emirate as a major international sporting venue, with dedicated golf and rugby facilities already garnering much attention from international stars.
The development also includes a range of Dubai property for sale to suit differing lifestyles.
