The economic strength of the UAE is continuing to attract international investors to the nation, two senior government officials have claimed.
Speaking to Emirates Business, Ahmad Abu Ghaida, acting director of economic planning at the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, said that large-scale investors have been visiting the emirates weekly as they look to capitalise on its financial strength.
Meanwhile, Khalid Al Kassim, deputy director-general of the Dubai Department of Economic Development, said that the country is seeing a lot of interest from "sincere" foreign investors from the UK, Germany, US and Japan.
"Last year, even with the high prices, Dubai turned out to be the number one destination of foreign direct investments. So imagine if we were to adjust the cost of living and the cost of doing business," mused Dr Raed Safadi, the chief economist at the Dubai department.
The Dubai Department of Economic Development is constituted by representatives of the government, community, local citizens and investors in the emirate.
