The laws governing the issuance of visas to those who own property in Dubai will be clarified and amended by the end of this year, one senior official has claimed.
Speaking to Emirates Business, Hamad Buamim, director general of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), said that the organisation is lobbying law makers to pass a resolution that will lay down rules for granting visas to those who buy property in Dubai.
"The law will clarify who deserves a visa in terms of their investment in the real estate. We don't know when it will be out but the government says it will be soon. I think soon means within this year," said Mr Buamim.
Earlier this week, the DCCI also convened a roundtable meeting of the heads of some of Dubai's biggest businesses to discuss the potential of corporate social responsibility.
Representatives of the pharmaceuticals, logistics, construction and UAE property industries were all in attendance for the meeting.
