The fourth Sri Lankan food festival kicked off at Spice Island in the Renaissance Dubai hotel today (April 7th), giving Emiratis the opportunity to taste the finest national dishes from the south Asian country.
Until April 21st, visitors will be able to sample the delights of Sri Lankan cuisine and diners will also have the opportunity to enter a raffle that will be offering two round trips to the island state, in addition to a host of other prizes.
"The Sri Lankan Food Festival is an excellent way of showcasing Sri Lanka's attractions to the clientele of Spice Island which includes Europeans, Arabs and Asians," said Heba Al Ghais Al Mansoori, Middle East director of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.
In addition to its rich culinary tradition, the country's cultural attractions, entertainment and shopping opportunities also make Sri Lanka a major draw among Arabian travellers, Mrs Al Mansoori added.
The festival has been organised jointly with Sri Lankan Airlines.
