Sultan Al Mansouri, the UAE's economic minister, has held top-tier talks with his German counterpart Jurgen Reinholz Thuringian to discuss ways to strengthen trade between the two countries.
The duo talked about expanding commercial relations across all sectors of the economy, including tourism ties and investment in property in the UAE.
Mr Al Mansouri stressed the historic trade relationship the two countries have nurtured and expressed a particular desire to promote the exchange of expertise in the fields of innovation, investment and small and medium-sized enterprise.
Such developments may lead to an influx of German entrepreneurs settling in the emirates and looking for property for sale in Dubai.
For his part, Mr Thuringian stressed the country's willingness to expand trade between the two nations and help the UAE to become a global leader in innovation and research.
In other recent trade expansion, UAE officials have recently hosted negotiations with Lebanese representatives to promote agricultural relations between the two countries.
