The $1 billion Education Park in Ras Al Khaimah will open its doors in 2010 as the northern emirate pursues a comprehensive expansion strategy.
Speaking to reporters last year, Oussama El Omari, the director general of the emirate's Free Trade Zone, said that the facilities will place a particular emphasis on training workers to prepare them for careers in aviation, tourism and hospitality.
"In addition, we're interested in promoting the skills of nationals and putting them in the industries we're attracting," he added.
Oxford Business Group reports that health services in Ras Al Khaimah will also receive large-scale investment to provide residents with the premium facilities, technology and care standards.
And in news that may be of interest to those looking for property in Ras Al Khaimah, the new investment in health will also focus particularly in improving standards of home-based care.
The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone was established in 2000 and supports more than 5,000 companies in the region, making it one of the fastest growing trade areas in the UAE.
