Dubai Municipality has confirmed that it will build a new park at Al Qusais 3 once current work on a new pond has finished.
The move comes as part of the organisation's strategy of increasing the green acreage of Dubai and will be followed by additional park projects at Al Barsha and Al Nahda.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, director general of the organisation, said that the new areas will be an ideal place for local residents to relax and unwind, news which may be of interest to those who are considering buying real estate in Dubai.
The group added that the ponds will be fenced in order to ensure they are safe for young children.
"Colourful water fountains are set up inside the pond and there is colourful lighting in and around the park area to give an aesthetic ambience," the organisation added.
Work on Al Qusais 3 pond project began in July 2007.
