If you have a property in Dubai you may be pleased to learn of an honour bestowed on one of the region's female professionals.
The Woman in Leadership Forum has named Maryam Sharaf as the Leading Woman Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
She is Dubai World's Group chief operating officer (COO) and CFO.
Ms Sharaf said: "Financial management of Dubai World is a team effort and I regard this award as welcome recognition of the work my finance team and the management of Dubai World have undertaken."
She was keen to thank the Dubai Business Women Council and the Naseba Group, saying that she would like the outcome to be that more women felt compelled to embark on financial sector careers.
Ms Sharf has held her post as CFO since 2006, having only recently assumed the COO role.
This is not the first award that the professional has been given, as last year she claimed the Emirates Business Women Award as well as being named one of the Top 12 Gulf Business Women by MEED magazine.
Naseba has been responsible for producing business platforms focused on networking, re-education and maximising "deal-making opportunities" for its clients since 2002.
