Construction Facts

• Tifway 419 Bermuda grass will be used in all grassed areas with the exception of the greens, which will use TifEagle - a fine textured dwarf Bermuda grass
• Almost two million cubic metres of earth have been moved to form the course and surrounding landscaping sites
• Fertile red sand for topsoil use has been especially supplied from Al Ain and pure white silica sand has been brought in from Saudi Arabia for blending with peat moss to construct the greens
• The 'Shapers' will spend over 6,000 man hours to shape the course
• Irrigation is computer controlled using 560 kilometres of cable which will be used to connect the irrigation heads to the control boxes and main computer
• Irrigation will be made up of 35 kilometres of lateral pipe, 11 kilometres of mainline irrigation pipe and 2,000 irrigation heads
