Those with property in Ras Al Khaimah are likely to be interested in a recent collaboration between its Environment Protection and Development Authority along with Emirates Wildlife Society, in association with the World Wide Fund (EWS-WWF).
In an initiative by both organisations to celebrate Arab Environment Day, energy-saving lightbulbs will be distributed in Ras Al Khaimah, in association with the eco campaign Heroes of the UAE.
Razan al Mubarak, managing director of EWS-WWF, commented: "Over 80 per cent of the UAE's footprint is related to CO2 emissions mainly due to energy consumption, with lighting an important contributor.
He added that the purpose of the visit by the organisation to Ras Al-Khamiah would be to "galvanise all of the UAE in the fight against climate change".
The event is taking place today (October 15th) up until 23:00 (local time) at the Manar Mall, Ras Al Khaimah and will see 5,000 lightbulbs being issued.
The WWF was established in 1961 and claims to be one of the largest worldwide environmental organisations around today.
