Dubai population swells by one million a day

Dubai’s population soars by more than one million people every day, according to new figures from the Dubai statistics centre. While the city’s official population stood at just over 2 million at the end of last year, data reveals that number reached 3.023 million, thanks to an ongoing influx of daily visitors. These include tourists, sailors and people who work in Dubai but live in other emirates. Official data also shows that Dubai’s resident population has grown by around 44,000 to 2.047 million people in the last five and a half months – good news for the city’s economy, trade and tourism industry, which continue to put in impressive performances.
